Category: Car-based van
Section: Version review
If you work on a farm or in a remote, hard-to-reach location, the Land Cruiser Commercial is a very good alternative to a traditional pick-up. Not only is it comfier than the Toyota Hilux and Ssangyong Musso, but it also significantly undercuts its closest commercial SUV rival, the Land Rover Defender Hard Top. With fantastic reliability and rock-solid resale values, it's a convincing package.
The trim

The engine
See full engine specsThis four-cylinder 2.8-litre diesel engine is a pretty gruff and agricultural beast. It’s not quick and it’s not particularly efficient, but you can be confident it has enough grunt to haul a fully-loaded car up a mountain – and it can tow up to 3,500kg.
