The model
Read full Toyota C-HR reviewThe Toyota C-HR's low running costs and good equipment levels partly make up for its relatively high price tag, but its ride, handling and practicality are not as good as the best small SUV rivals'. If you do buy a C-HR, we think the 1.8-litre regular hybrid in Design trim is the best choice.
The trim
See full equipmentThis is our favourite trim. As well as the bigger 12.3in touchscreen, it also adds a fully digital driver display, ambient interior lighting and heated front seats to everything you get on the entry-level Icon. Plus it gains some extra parking aids and opens up some personalisation features, including the option to have a black roof.
The engine
See full engine specsThe 1.8-litre is our pick. It’s no speed demon, managing 0-62mph in 10.2sec, but it’ll get you up to motorway speeds without too much fuss, plus it keeps the price respectable.
