The model
Read full Toyota Aygo X reviewThe Toyota Aygo X offers thrifty everyday motoring and is packed with safety tech. It's good to drive, too – although there are more practical alternatives. Stick with the standard manual gearbox unless you really don't want to change gear yourself, and we reckon mid-spec Edge trim makes the most sense.
The trim
See full equipmentMid-rung Edge trim is our favourite, adding a bi-tone paint finish, 18in alloy wheels, climate control, automatic wipers and rear privacy glass to everything you get with entry-level Pure.
The engine
See full engine specsThere's only one engine and it's a 71bhp 1.0-litre petrol. Free from any turbocharging or hybrid electrical assistance, acceleration is best described as 'pedestrian' (0-62mph takes at least 14.9 seconds), although you won't exactly struggle to keep up with other cars in urban and suburban environments.
