The model
Read full Tesla Model Y reviewThe Tesla Model Y is fast, has a long range between charges and is very practical. There are much quieter and more comfortable alternatives, but if you need to travel long distances in one go and will regularly take advantage of Tesla's Supercharger network then it's worth considering. The Long Range RWD makes the most sense on paper, although sadly that's also the version that has the choppiest ride.
The trim
See full equipmentAll versions of the Model Y come with plenty of luxuries, including climate control, adaptive cruise control, faux-leather seats (heated in the front and back), an electric tailgate and keyless entry via an app on your smartphone. There isn’t much on the options list. Indeed, apart from metallic paint and different alloy wheel designs, the only options are extra autonomous driving functions.
The engine
See full engine specsThe Long Range AWD version can hit 60mph from a standstill in a staggering 4.8 seconds, so it’s way faster than a BMW iX3. Officially, it can do 331 miles on a charge, although 270-305 miles is more realistic on the road.
