The model
Read full BMW iX3 reviewThe BMW iX3 struggles to compete when it comes to charging speeds and range, but it makes up for that by being good to drive, practical and smart inside with a fab infotainment system. It’s still a fine buy if you’re looking for a big electric SUV.
The trim
See full equipmentThe top-of-the-range M Sport Pro trim takes the long list of goodies from the entry-level trim and adds 20in alloy wheels, high-beam assist, adjustable lumbar support, a head-up display, an upgraded Harman Kardon surround-sound audio system and the Hans Zimmer designed IconicSounds acceleration effects.
The engine
See full engine specsThe iX3’s electric powertrain feels strong rather than thrilling, accelerating the iX3 from 0-62mph in around 6.8sec in near silence (unless you have the space-age sounding IconicSounds system that comes with M Sport Pro trim). It’s more than fast enough for almost any situation you can throw at it and still offers an official range of 285 miles, more than any rival.
