30 May 2023 – absolutely floored

Do you remember reading in my second report that I thought I might be able to retrofit a variable-height boot floor to my Toyota Yaris Cross? Well, I’ve done some digging.

This feature is standard from Excel trim and above, but I think the near £2600 extra you have to pay over my Design-spec car is a bit rich (even if I would quite like the heated seats from that version).

There isn’t the option to specify a variable-height boot floor as an individual item like you can do with the Skoda Kamiq (for a mere £180). However, I thought it might be a reasonably priced item that I could get through a Toyota Parts centre.

Sadly, no such luck. Speaking with the parts department of my local Toyota dealer (Currie Motors, Twickenham), I found out it would cost £345! It seems like I’ll have to wait for one to show up on eBay as a used item.
