I’m happy to say it’s very good news for my Nissan Juke. If you’ve ever had to use the boot in the previous-generation model, you’ll know that it was as small as it was awkwardly shaped. Thankfully, this time around, Nissan have listened to its customers and provided a larger, more conventional square-shaped opening that makes loading significantly easier.

It’s also noticeably larger in volume than before. To be precise, 422 litres (up from 354 litres) with the rear seats in place. In real-world terms, that translates to six carry-on cases below the load cover or, as you’ll see in this photo, almost two fold-up Brompton bikes lying sideways next to each other. In fact, the depth is such that you’re almost able to have the bike sit below the standard height-adjustable boot floor, which is very impressive indeed.
