New Kia Sportage vs used Volvo XC40 verdict
Around £30,000 will buy you a shiny new Kia Sportage family SUV, but is that money better spent on something with a prestige badge, like a used Volvo XC40?...
Our verdict
It's a close one. The used Volvo XC40 almost takes the win here, because you're getting more performance, not to mention a more luxurious interior and a better driving experience. However, it's not terribly well equipped from new and its inferior fuel economy doesn't help its case.
While it isn't quite as plush, a new Kia Sportage is the option we'd recommend. It still drives well and has a pleasant interior, yet it'll cost you less to run, should be more reliable and it's more practical, too. Add in its outstanding seven-year warranty and the Kia clinches it here.
