Face-lifted Mini revealed

Mini has revealed face-lifted models of its hatch, Convertible and Clubman cars, and announced details about two new diesel engines.

The three models get new bumpers front and back, restyled foglamps and indicators and the brake lights now vary in intensity according to the amount of braking pressure applied.

Mini has also updated its audio, Bluetooth and sat-nav systems. All versions except One models get DAB radio as standard.

Mini now offers an optional Mini Connected pack that allows Apple iPhone users to connect their phone to their car. Users can then listen to internet radio through the car's stereo system, receive rss newsfeeds, play videos and call up Facebook or Twitter messages through the central display.

New diesel engines
Two new 1.6 diesel engines join the Mini range.

The Mini One D has an 89bhp diesel engine. The car is capable of 74.3mpg and emits 99g/km of CO2. The Mini Cooper D has the same fuel economy figure, but it's faster in the 0-60mph dash (9.7s compared with 11.4) and has an overall faster top speed (123mph compared with 115mph), thanks to its 110bhp.

The 110bhp diesel is also fitted to the Mini Cooper Convertible, the first time the drop-top gets diesel power. It is capable of 70mpg and emits 105g/km of CO2.
